Grant Axman-Friend

Grant is Managing Director and Project Director of Core Project Advisory. He has over 20 years industry experience in the planning and delivery of major infrastructure and building projects throughout Queensland and Western Australia. His experience is often called upon to provide expert advice with regard to disputes on project delays and to undertake project and gateway reviews and audits. Grant is also a lecturer in project management and has a Master’s degree in Sustainability and Climate Policy and a passion for ecological sustainable development.

Grant has managed teams of project professionals comprising project directors, project managers, project control specialists, quantity surveyors, contract administrators, architects and engineers. He has been the client representative project manager for several building projects in Queensland and has provided expert planning and dispute resolution advice on several infrastructure projects. Grant has previously held senior management role in three project management consulting companies.

Grant’s project experience includes shopping centres, hospitals, commercial fitouts, sport and recreation facilities, defence and customs facilities, water treatment plants and pipelines, power transmission, solar farms, LNG plants, CSG collection, distribution and processing, roads and bridges, mine to port infrastructure, and light rail.

Following a lifelong interest in sustainability Grant founded Sustainable Insight, a company that researched and promoted sustainable technologies and practices. Grant also founded Project Forecast, an initiative that benchmarks project timeframes and productivity rates.

Grant enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, and looks forward to being able to spend more time sailing.
