What if I could tell you that there is a permanent, sustainable and commercially viable way of handling the problem of asbestos in Australia.

Even though asbestos has been banned and is being removed from our built environment, that does not mean it is gone.

Once considered a magical mineral, asbestos has left a lethal legacy. Used in over 3,000 different products, one in every three Australian homes contains asbestos. Every year, thousands of Australians die from asbestos related diseases.

Core Project Advisory are thrilled to share that we are working in partnership with EnviroMaster to fulfill Australian Government Grant funding requirements through our Project Management and Project Advisory Services.

EnviroMaster’s patented Thermochemical Conversion Technology, or TCCT, utilises size reduction of waste, application of a fluxing solution and heat to treat asbestos waste that would otherwise be landfilled.

The TCCT process results in an inert, non-hazardous end product that can be used in a variety of non-structural construction applications.

In May 2019, with $5.5M in Commonwealth funding, Core Project Advisory assisted EnviroMaster with the preparation of its original business case to build a trial TCCT Facility.

A further $8.8m in funding was secured in January 2021, to further develop the business case, engage a commercial partner to own and/or operate the facility, identify and acquire a site, and obtain all necessary regulatory approvals.

Every year, millions of tonnes of asbestos hazardous waste is stored, buried in landfill. This practice is contaminating our neighbourhoods’ and passing the problem from one generation to the next.

But as the world turns its back on landfill, and pushes towards a more circular economy, TCCT technology provides an opportunity to set a worldwide precedent for eradicating asbestos waste and obliterating asbestos’ lethal legacy.

EnviroMaster hold the exclusive license rights to the patented TCCT technology in the Australasian territory and are seeking to establish the world first, commercial scale facility.

By eradicating asbestos waste from our landfills, EnviroMaster’s TCCT facility will protect the health and wellbeing of our communities, and prevent long-term damage to our environment.
